CMR feature-tracking predicts death in a multicenter population of patients with cardiomyopathy, incremental to EF and LGE.

The team of Romano c.s. from Univ of Illinois have followed a total of 1012 patients from 4 US medical centers over a period of more than 4 years. Global Longitudinal Strain (GLS) was assessed with Medis QStrain software solution. The team concluded that GLS measured during routine cine-CMR is a powerful independent predictor of mortality in patients with ischemic and non-ischemic dilated cardiomyopathy, incremental to common clinical and imaging risk factors including EF and LGE.
